I'm Henry Whelan — a developer based in New Zealand with a background in C# backend systems, SQL databases, and building software that makes a difference to real people.

I'm expanding into AI engineering: building integrations with language models, designing products around AI capabilities, and working toward roles where engineering and customer impact go hand in hand — Forward Deployed Engineer and Applied AI Engineer positions.

Outside of code I care about civic technology, local communities, and building things that reflect NZ values: practical, fair, and grounded.
